The BinaxNOW RSVtests provide fast, accurate, and reliable results through a simple one-step procedure. Tests offer the flexibility of nasopharyngeal swab or nasal wash sample use, and require no additional reagents or extra steps. Results help to guide appropriate therapy and avoid unnecessary antibiotic use.
The simple testing procedure involves adding 100µL of swab or wash specimen to the included sample pad and waiting 15 minutes for positive, negative, or invalid results. Kits maintain a shelf life of 24 months from the date of manufacture, and should be stored at room temperature.
To perform the test, a throat swab specimen is collected. Antigen is extracted from the swab specimen with Reagents A and B. The Dipstick is then added to the extracted sample.
